Washington

We are now in Washington for the Harley-Davidson Winter Dealer Meeting. Courses and conferences will start today, for 3 full busy days, and on monday starts the dealer meeting itself, with the presentation of the new products.

On our way from Oslo to Washington, we stopped for a couple of hours in Paris, we found time to visit one of the 3 parisian H-D dealers. Nothing to be impressed... Then we had one free day in Washington and time for some sightseeing, Capitol hill, the White House. We arrived 2 days too late, so we missed President Obama's inauguration but it was great to be there and feel a little bit of the atmosphere. To make a priority of closing Guantanamo is a good sign that democracy is back in this country. Could democracy be back also in some other "supposed to be democratic" countries... Isn't it, Mister Sarkozy...

While I write this note, I am watching CNN, and it says that Harley-Davidson is going to cut 1100 jobs. In a few days we will know more about the market status in the US and in the world. It is going to be a tough year! Anyway, we stay motivated and determined to do our best for the brand we love!
