Lars and I are now back home, and back to the dealership. We had a fantastic trip to the Dealer Meeting in Washington, it is always a great experience to meet so many dealers from all over the world, drinking a couple of beers in the evening. Or something stronger, isn't it, Lars...?
The new bikes are usually presented in the summer, and it is always great to discover one new model in the winter, just before the season's start. And we were very pleased to see the new Sportster IRON 883, a great bike for us in Norway. A tough bike, a kind of Nightster but even darker, even tougher, and with the 883 engine that gives us a good selling price at 123.900 Kr. The essence of a motorcycle, 2 wheels, an engine, a small gas tank, all black, no extras, that's it! No doubt that this model will attract new riders. Sportsters are definitely not ladies bikes! (Though ladies will appreciate to ride this low and easy to ride motorcycle).
During our trip, Anton continued to work on my Old School Project, and he found an amazing gas cap at a swap meet last week in Oslo. It will perfectly fit the design that will come on the tank, which is now ready for painting, so come back to see it here in a few weeks. I was impressed with the job Anton did to adapt this new cap, filling the hole of the old one, and fixing the new one at another location. We got some parts, the primary belt, the back fender, we are still waiting for the wheels, the front light... Exciting to imagine how it will look like!
